Why Individual Employees’ Email Addresses Are Required When Registering for the SHOT Show

Over the last several shows, we began requiring individual unique email addresses for attendees and exhibiting personnel and for the most part our 62,000 attendees and exhibitors were understanding and cooperative.  There are a number of reasons we implemented this requirement:

  • Using a unique email address will allow each SHOT Show badge holder to utilize and customize the online show planner and the show’s mobile app. A full 54 percent of 2013 SHOT Show attendees downloaded and used the SHOT Mobile app sponsored by Armalite.  A unique email address is required in order to activate the app.
  • All attendees will be able to receive timely SHOT Show information and communications.  You’d be surprised at how often critical information is not passed along to key booth staff.  This ensures that everyone gets the word.
  • Finally, the use of unique email addresses will help us in identifying non-qualified attendees.  It’s not uncommon for manufacturer’s reps to use a personal email address.  We get that.  But it also stands to reason that the majority of retailer and exhibitor staff should utilize a company email address.  Hence, we can more easily identify those that are bringing non-qualified attendees into the show.

All attendees and exhibitors alike will be required to provide unique email addresses.  With your help, we can ensure that all exhibitors and attendees receive all the information they need, are able to utilize the show planner to its fullest and also help us in our continued efforts to ensure the SHOT Show remains a trade-only event with qualified attendees and exhibiting personnel.

Details on SHOT Show Registration

Believe it or not, summer is coming to an end. Fall is in the air up here in New England, and we’ve been busy preparing for the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. It’ll be here before you know it.

We wanted to provide everyone with a quick update about when SHOT Show registration will begin. Here are the details:

Attendee Registration

Registration will open for all attendees on Oct. 1. If you are a member of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, you will be able to register starting on Sept. 17. NSSF members should keep an eye on their inboxes for an email letting them know that registration is open. NSSF members will also have the opportunity to buy tickets to the State of the Industry Dinner at that time. On Oct. 1, an email to all SHOT Show attendees will be sent, letting them know that registration is open.

Media Registration

Pre-approved SHOT Show media will be able to register starting this week. An email will be sent to all pre-approved media this week along with information on registering for Media Day at the Range. Registration for all media will open on Oct. 1.

Stay tuned to more updates about the show right here on the SHOT Show Blog. We look forward to seeing everyone in Las Vegas in January!

Provide All Employees’ Email Addresses When Registering for the Show

This year, the SHOT Show is requiring individual unique email addresses for attendees and exhibiting personnel.

The reasons for this are:

  • Using a unique email address will allow each SHOT Show badge holder to utilize and customize the online show planner and the show’s mobile app.
  • All attendees will be able to receive timely SHOT Show information and communications.
  • Finally, the use of unique email addresses will help us in identifying non-qualified attendees.

While many companies began providing us with unique email addresses during our transition last year, there were still instances where only one email address was used when registering for multiple staff. This year, all attendees and exhibitors alike will be required to provide unique email addresses.

With your help, we can ensure that all exhibitors and attendees receive all the information they need, are able to utilize the show planner to its fullest and also help us in our continued efforts to ensure the SHOT Show remains a trade-only event with qualified attendees and exhibiting personnel.

So please provide each individual’s email address when registering this year. Thanks!
